The Bangladesh High Commission here has launched a jobs portal called Chakrir Khoj that aims to help employers in Malaysia find the right workers and help workers find suitable jobs.
The portal, launched at a virtual event on April 8, may also assist possible employers and undocumented Bangladesh nationals or those who have overstayed in Malaysia to take part in the Malaysian government’s recalibration programme, said the High Commission in a statement.
Bangladesh High Commissioner to Malaysia Md Golam Sarwar, in his welcome remarks, said the portal will assist undocumented Bangladeshi staff in obtaining jobs with out a hassle.
The statement also quoted Malaysia’s Labour Department deputy director-general Mohd Asri Abd Wahab as saying that he seeks the High Commission’s cooperation to make the recalibration programme successful.
(Launched in November last year, the recalibration programme allows undocumented migrants to be repatriated voluntarily with their country of origin.)
The function was also attended by Bangladesh’s Expatriates’ Welfare and Overseas Employment Minister Imran Ahmad and State Minister for Foreign Affairs Md Shahriar Alam.
Through this portal, personnel should be able to communicate easily with recruiters through this portal, adding that the brand new system will remove middlemen from the recruitment process, Imran said.
His ministry’s Secretary Dr Ahmed Munirus Saleheen said the initiative aligns with “Digital Bangladesh” vision as reported by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, adding that a large number of undocumented Bangladeshi expatriates are certain to get jobs through this platform.
